Laura J. Perin cyber class

I just signed up for the cyber class starting in November.  I chose the colorway "red".

Third sundog for the week!

Today I saw a sundog on the way home from work.  I saw one Monday and Tuesday, too, on the way home.  I told a friend on Wednesday that I see a lot of them because I look for them. So pretty; a treat from God to those who take a moment to look.

Zumba with Andre

I went to the local gym today and took the zumba class.  Very high energy, but well paced.  I lasted 42 minutes!  That's a bit longer than usual for me.

Bent Creek's Flag of Stars

This is coming along nicely.  I've started the next to the last row today.  It was a kit using perle cotton.  I've already bought an 8 x 8 frame for it.

Eagle, gold finch, cardinals and assorted sparrows

I saw these while stitching and watching trains go by at the Harper's Ferry train station. Actually, that should be train singular.  We only saw one.

I did finish stitching on Liberty of SB' s Americana Trifles.  Just need to add the star.

Kelly Miller Circus was in town tonight

It's been a few years since we had been to this circus.  I like it very much and it sold out.  Tigers, zebras, llamas, camels, dogs and goats that do tricks, trapeze, jugglers, elephants, clowns and a man who eats and breathes fire (don't try this at home!).  A good show and a lot of fun.

Missed stitching night and it just dawned on me that I didn't get a reminder email.

Non-sequitur alert: I ordered a new chart plus all the kitted supplies from Shepherd's Bush today (check out their blog).  It's an Americana theme; just in time for the Fourth of July.

Judging school this weekend

I enjoy going to judging school, but I am always happier when it's over.  I was asked to judge hay pictures last year so this year I'll be taking a hay class: know your subject!! LOL  The next weekend is the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival.  I go every year.  I've gone every year since the 1980's.  The weather is usually nice and there are tons of yarn to be squished to determine suitability.

Zumba!!

I took my first zumba class last night.  What fun!  I ache all over today though.  I tried to walk over to the cherry blossoms, but only made it to the WWII Memorial.  That was good though because I'd not seen it before.  It was a fabulously gorgeous day.

Ordered SB Fold box!

Crazy Annie's had the box on sale the other day so I ordered it.  I saw it at the LNS and I was impressed by how well made it is.  My tax refund gift to myself. :)

Snowing ------again!

Must. Stop. Now.

It started as rain yesterday.  Was raining hard until one PM.  By 3PM it was snowing. Sticking to the grass and cars. I mean this most sincerely: Ick!

Cascade 220 is wonderful to knit with

This is such a smooth and soft yarn yet strong enough to keep its shape.  The scarf is looking great.

Bought yarn today at All About Yarn

Yesterday at Joann Fabrics I bought Knitsimple magazine and really liked scarf 9, the Checkerboard Scarf.  With the shop owner's help I bought Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash PAINTS in yellows.  I also bought Feza Yarn Alp Premier in blues and yellows.  This should look great when worked up.

Non sequitur: I want to be at the beach.

Ta-da!!

I finished Fox Forest by The Workbasket today!  I stitched the zero before realizing it was the zero for the year.  I needed a one. LOL

Started May I by All Through the Night

I started this last night and worked on it almost all day. :)  It's going quickly since it is not on black.

Sunday, March 2, 2014

Went to the LNS today

Snow, sleet and ice are on the way tonight.  Had to get more projects because I'd hate to not have anything to stitch. LOL.

I bought Merry Eweies by Homespun Elegance, It's Snowing Men! by Just Nan, and the one I'm going to start stitching tonight: May I by All Through the Night.  I must say that I consider the fabric choice of WDW Onyx to be a typo.  I am using Copper Penny.

ACK!! A frog!!

It's hideous! Fortunately for me, although the entire design had to be ripped out, it was only 12 stitches.
